Welcome to Wilbury Junior School.
I hope you will enjoy looking through our website and finding out all about Wilbury Junior School. If you have any problems, or need further details, please contact us either through the website or directly.
The school originally opened in 1949 and was extended with a new block in 2013. We are a three form entry junior school, catering for children aged seven to eleven. The majority of our children come to us from Icknield Infant and Nursery School. The two schools have a very close working relationship as well as a joint parent teacher association.
The school is on an exciting journey. It became an academy on the 1st September 2017 and are part of Herts for Learning Multi Academy Trust. More information about the Trust can be found at www.hflmat.co.uk.
The children wrote the school motto “Together, achieve, believe and shine” and this is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to deliver an engaging, inspiring and enriched curriculum which allows every child to succeed. This includes WOW days, visitors to our school and trips out as well as learning in class. We follow the National Curriculum and focus on teaching all the skills the children need through a range of different contexts.
We are an inclusive school and ensure that every child is given the opportunity to make as much progress as they can. We offer a wide range of interventions should a child find their learning tricky. Our learning, pastoral and wellbeing teams are on hand to support both children and parents.
We work hard to develop and maintain good partnerships with parents and carers. Throughout the school year there are opportunities to come and work with us, to celebrate with us in assembly and to participate in trips, activities and learning.
If you have any queries, concerns or wish to visit our school, please contact the office who will be happy to help you.
