Year Six - home learning

Wb 13.7.20 - Final week of term!

Well done for all of your hard work this term!

We will not be uploading any new work this week so please use this week to catch up with any missed work, play on Purple Mash and TTRockstars or complete a project of your choosing.

We look forward to seeing many of you on Wednesday. If not, we hope you have a lovely holiday and wish you the best of luck for year 7.

Thursday 9th July

There will be no work set today as it is secondary transition day. Use the day to take part in virtual transition sessions or complete work set by your secondary school.

Sports Day! Break up your day and try some of our alternative sports day activities that you can do at home or in the garden! Good luck.

Thursday 18th June

Today, we are having a mental health awareness day to celebrate how well we are all doing in these difficult times. You have been set 3 tasks which are all designed to celebrate how important looking after our mental health is. You will not be set any Maths or English tasks today. Send in photographs of your work to your teacher. We would love to see your work!

VE Day!

If you have work to share with your teacher or need any support with your work, you can email it to them and they will get back to you. They would really love to see the work you are doing and may even nominate you for a headteachers award!

Useful websites for adapting home learning for pupils with SEND

Some fun non-screen activities to try at home.

This website can be filtered by subject and age so if your child is working below their chronological age you could access the year below.

A great website with lots of fun maths games, which can be filtered by age and mathematical concept.

These two websites show the list of spelling expectations and patterns for each year group. If you find spellings challenging, start one or two year groups below and go from there – there is no harm in over learning the previous words.

This website has a small number of free games which are filtered to focus on the first 100 High Frequency Words. Make sure you can read and write them too. Once you are secure in these, move on to the next set/list -  this will really help when you move on to secondary school.
